Which is a shame, because he’s probably one of the funniest comedians in the business. Either he’s really funny, or he’s not that funny. I’m wondering if Jeff just really isn’t suited to the half-hour format, because there seem to be more misfires than successful sketches. And I could do with less Sweet Daddy D and more Jose. One quick segment is alright for some filler, but three of them shows maybe there was a lack of good material for this episode. Other than the one Achmed sketch, this is another episode that pretty much stumbles. In other words, you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure it out, which considering this is Bubba J, is not surprising. This basically involves never going upstairs and not sticking a fork in your outlet. Which is why he’s perfect to shill “drunkproofing” your house. This segues into Bubba J doing a meaningless Top Ten List with no topic. It’s horribly inappropriate, but it’s funny. He decides to get his wife a vacation but of course, hates everywhere the travel agent suggests and ends up shipping his wife off to China by herself so he can stay home. Cut to Jeff in church when his phone goes off with a particularly inappropriate Achmed ringtone – I won’t spoil which and it’s profane, but it’s funny. As you can guess, these are all wrong in some way. Also, he’s invented an “iKillYou” Phone that has a “stab” function, a “detonate” function, an “Anthrax app” and his own specially recorded ringtones. He takes a break from plucking his eyebrows and building a bomb to tell us his middle name is Leslie. If anything can save this episode from being as unfunny as last week, it’s Achmed the Dead Terrorist. If this replaces my random Achmed segments I will be disappointed. I’d be happy if this character got dropped from the show altogether. Yes, this is pretty much unfunny and potentially offensive to both white and black people. Starting with Jeff in an Abraham Lincoln outfit, complete with beard and hat: “He made me do this.” Sweet Daddy decides to modernize the re-enactment with such things as an AK-47, rap music, and a drive-by. This has the possibility to offend everyone. But he decides to take this one step further by going to a Civil War re-enactment. Personally, I don’t understand camping either. We open with Sweet Daddy D, who claims he doesn’t understand white people and their love of camping. And Achmed tells us Jeff let him borrow his Hummer to move a futon into his cave. The DL (short for “down-low”) refers to straight men of color who live their everyday lives as heterosexuals, often married to women, but engage in discreet gay sex and gay relationships on the periphery.Brittany Frederick – Staff continue our tradition of airing episodes out of order, shall we? This week, our fifth episode is actually Episode 104.
